GEN 2 Milwaukee M18 Compact Brushless And Upgraded Brushless Drill / Hammer Drill & Impression Driver

Milwaukee has announced new M18 brushless compact drill/driver, hammer drill and impact driver. They are the same as the M18 brushless compacts. The brushless motor is still present, but they are placed above the FUEL models. This compact package offers a lighter, more compact design than the FUEL power tools, while still providing competitive performance and a brushless engine.

As a quick wrap-up, the new M18 compact brushless drill/driver model2801-22CT will be replacing the current compact M18 brushless model2701-22CT. Although torque stays the same at 500 in-lbs, the new model is more compact at 17 cm in length and lighter at 15 kg than the outgoing model. 2nd speed RPM stays the same however 1st speed RPM goes up to 500 which should deliver faster drilling and driving in the 1st speed than the outgoing model.

The new M18 compact brushless hammer drill model2902-22 isnt mentioned as replacing the 1st gen M18 compact brushless hammer drill so it appears this will be sold alongside the original model for different options at different price points. At 18 cm in length, the new model is smaller than the previous model. It also has 725 in-lbs more torque making it comparable to the original M18 Fuel Hammer drill. Also just like the original M18 Fuel hammer drill, this new compact model also sports a removable side handle. The extra handle is needed since its packing more torque which requires as much grip as possible so you dont hurt yourself. This new compact M18 brushless hammer drill model comes packaged with XC 4.0 batteries instead of compact 2.0 batteries.

The new M18 compact brushless impact now comes in two flavors in a single speed (model2850-22CT) and a 3 speed (model 2851-20) both of which have variable speed triggers. Both new models have the same stats other than the single or triple speeds which include 1600 in-lbs of torque which is higher than the outgoing model and are more compact and lighter as well at 13 cm length and 13 kg with compact 2.0 battery.

The M18 compact drill driver and single speed impact are launching in August 2022 while the other two are launching in September 2022.
